Love Always - Coach J
I love being surrounded by soft pillows a down comforter a good book and the TV remote nearby. I like stay in bed sometimes even after I have awaken and just float in my cloud of comfort that is my bed. The smell of bacon, eggs and sweet potato hash filling the house. As I read and relax my breakfast arrives without warning or expectation. I eat, read some more then fade into a light nap. When you work hard you can truly appreciate the finer points of doing nothing at all! Get rested up my friends, our next jouney begins soon.

Moment of truth - I am not the most patient person... It is an exercise for me to step back and let others take the wheel. I had an awesome experience last night by stepping back and allowing my 10 year old to prepare dinner for us. He chose home/handmade meat balls. Grass fed beef, fresh veggies, herbs, and spices. They came out great and will be part of our regular rotation. The most satisfying part of the meal was looking over at him while he enjoyed watching us enjoy the fruit of his efforts. He can begin to understand the joy that comes from sweat and service. I will step back more and more to allow him and others the space they need to become who they were made to be. More than a meal, it was food for my soul. Love Always - Coach J Servant Leadership. What image, thoughts, feelings or sounds come to mind with those two words? I suggest that many of you relate this title or phrase with helping others. Leading through service may be another outlook. Today we are going to spin this a little and still keep its intent. How do you lead yourself? What does your self talk sound like? Would it be beneficial to consider your strentgths and push yourself to new limits? Do you push yourself hard or do you baby yourself? What is the tipping point. If you raise yourself as you would your child would you feed, nourish and challenge them or would you have them live in a bubble of protection. How you lead yourself will overflow to how you lead others. Challenge yourself as well as reward yourself. Work and play hard and relax when done. Keep this spirit in all layers of leadership. Serve yourself first so you are in prime position to assist others. Love Always - Coach J It's nice after a run of sleeping for four to five hours and travelling, and sightseeing to take a day to recoup. Just lay around, read a book, watch some football on TV, and just nap off and on throughout the day. I am an advocate of working hard, pushing through barriers, and maximizing your day. I also know that you need to recharge your battery to be most effective. Here is to scrambled eggs and recliners. Overcast days and no pressure. Love Always - Coach J |
