 What good is a diamond in the dark? The beauty of the diamond is the bending and reflection of the light that surrounds and penetrates the stone. Now look around yourself and see what type of light is surrounding you and what you are reflecting. You do not feel as bright as you want to change the light that surrounds you.

 As you consider the picture to the left consider this; do you believe that city is "seen" the same way from the penthouse floor as it is from the alley way? How about the view from inside that building in the center of the picture - is it the same perspective as the parking garage down the street? Is this city appear the same by plane as it does by taxi, or the pedestrian? The city remains constant yet the perspective can have a profound impact on our impression of the city. What "cities" in your life could use a fresh perspective? If you are feeling down or stagnant in one area look for higher ground, elevation, or simply a different direction to get a fresh take on the situation and open your mind to the possibilities.

Then you must find the platform where you are to perform. Then you build your audience. To use a band as an analogy - you must fill a club before you can fill an area. Do a self check of your talents and skills. Check your platform and begin performing where you arel
Love Always - Coach J  Yesterday I wrote about what you focus on is what you invest in. Today let's look at how investments can double and triple their return over time. Learning something new takes time and energy to comprehend. Mastery takes even more time. Yet as you master a craft or tool you gain back time by knowing the most direct path to execution, the proper tools to use as well as when to enlist assistance. Your repeated investment in yourself will eventually begin to double fold on itself multiplying each move you make. Gaining momentum is like running with the wind at your back. Once you get started all you need do is add a little more each day and maintain.
Love Always - Coach J  You get a return on the thoughts, ideas, and actions you take. When your outcomes do not meet the desired result go back and evaluate what had your time, thoughts, and attention. If you understood the true result of all of your time spent was tied back to what you gave your attention would behave the same? Would you spend more or less time with family and friends, movies, or music? How about the time you spend learning and challenging yourself? The outcome is yours to be decided.
Love Always - Coach J  When you take action you "take a shot" at some desired outcome. You either hit the mark or miss it. Many times we study the result for too long and our lack of action impacts the next shot. When you take your shot see where you connected and what missed. Make the adjustments and shoot again. The thing that is not to be missed is to make sure you reload. Have inputs that feed your ability to soot again and again. You will never have another shot at it if you don't have the ammo.

Every great building has a strong foundation. It also began with a cornerstone and rose one brick at a time. Invest in a strong foundation of your mind, body, spirit for overall health. Build with bricks of education and experience. Have window in your building as you grow so you are not shut off to outside developments. Surround yourself with others that are willing to invest in themselves and soon will be find yourself a skyscraper in a metropolis of great influence.
Love Always - Coach J  There are two sides to sharing. The giving and the receiving. Many times when we are asked to share we are very prepared to give. Give our story, our perspective or our experience. The other side of sharing is to be open to receiving. To be open to learning and listening with the intent to understand. Being a clean slate with an open mind is a key component to sharing.
Love Always - Coach J  How many moments in a day are teachable moments? Imagine if you gave each interaction the time it deserves and slowed down to be present in the moment. How willing are you to be the student as well as the teacher? Even when leading a lesson you should stay open to learning. Seeing new perspectives and keeping a fresh mind will keep your spirit young and your mind innovative. There never a day where we cannot learn something new.
