i'll be there

One of the great lessons I had to learn and have to practice daily is when a friend or loved one shares a concern or pain they have to simply listen.  Inside I want to find an answer for them, or just the right thing to say to give them direction.  Sometimes... Many times the best you can do is just be there for them.  Let them know you are there when they need you.  And let life be.

out of control

If you know me you know I like to be in control.  I like to be strategic, and thought out.  I don't like to waste time and I can be perceived as impatient.  Recently I have had the most beautiful out of control feeling.  It is fed by having people around me that are focused on where they are heading, and taking the steps to achieve positive goals.  The more I allow these people into my world the more unexpected events are arising and they are wonderful.  I am enjoying the lack of control and foresight.  It feels great to have others around me throwing inspirational and remarkable ideas at me at 100 miles per second.  When your universe is in alignment you do not need to be in control.

in a name

You may label someone or something by a name or title to flatter them such as a CEO, Teacher, or Friend. You can also use titles and names in an attempt to discredit or shame someone or something.  The way you view yourself is more important than any title.  The actions you chose to take define you more than any business card or title.  act as if you are the title you want to carry and let the rest work itself out.

It's really refreshing to watch old friends unite.  Even watching two strangers that clearly had not seen each other in sometime simply light up, embrace and glow from the reconnection.  As you read this think of at least one person you can pop in on, or at least call for the reason to say you were thinking about them and they mean a lot to you.  Take gauge of how you feel afterword.  Recharge, reinvest, reconnect with a good friend.

string them together

When things get bad they tend to feel like the weight of the world is upon us.  So my theory and practice to take the "regular" days and string them together and notice the daily miracles each - then you know for sure the good truly outweigh the bad.  It helps to have loved ones, family, and friends to connect with during these times as well.  This week has gone from despair with two of my children to levels of resolution and a connection with a long missed friend and a check in call form a cousin I respect and regard.  My wife is beginning a new endeavor and used the words she feels "Liberated".  When I feel like a day is too much to bear I simply go to bed a little early.  Because I know for a fact the difference a day can make.  Thank you for all the beautiful people and events in my life that help me string the best of life together.

healing

Have you ever heard "time heals all wounds"?  In my experience I can say time has numbed certain wounds, but I have felt true healing through communication.  Being able to share my perspective and driving factors to my behavior, and being open, objective, and honest in hearing the other side of my perceived pain.  I know you won't always have a chance to have two way communication to clear your pain.  I have some wounds that only have time to numb as there can never be a true communication with another either do to death, life, or other circumstances.  I will say fight for the opportunity to clear the air, hear and be heard and truly heal through communication.

pain

Recently I was expressing my pain to a loved one.  My pain is from an not having a good connection with them and my desire to be more involved in their life.  Not to have control or input but simply to have a connection and be someone they keep in touch with - we had not spoken in quite a while.  I noticed the their tone changed from defensiveness to understanding when I was expressing my perception and I said "This is not judgment of you or your actions, I am simply expressing my pain".  From my reality this is all that I was expressing - my pain, I was not judging their action or lack of action, I was truly expressing the pain I felt from not being connected.  I want no control, no input, simply to be connected with and made aware of their safety and well being.  Pain comes in many ways and we express it in many ways.  Make sure when there comes a time to share your pain that you bring it from that place and not a place of anger or judgment.  I hope this serves you well as times of difficulty are few and far between but amplify our emotions making it hard to be objective.

Do you know the feeling when you are witnessing classic art in it's purest form?  I mean watching a dancer dance with their soul, a painting that you cannot look away from, a photograph that has layers, shades and depth.  How about Baroque, Rock, Blues, or Hip Hop?  When the artist is in tuned with their essence there is no mistaking the art.  Whether you enjoy the medium or not you can recognize the art.  I am grateful to align and experience these artists in their element sharing their gift with the world.

service

Look for ways to serve others.  I have never felt more accomplished in my work or more fulfilled in my pursuits until I learned to align with what I love and learn how to serve others through it.  I always found success financially by serving others so I understood how important service is.  The difference was learning to apply what I love to the service I was providing.  I know many great people that serve selflessly but are not fulfilled.  Self align with your passion and your joy - then serve.  You must be energized to serve at the highest level.  Serve others by serving yourself like royalty.

what would you give up?

What would you sacrifice for someone you love?  What are you willing to let go or miss out on so someone you love can fulfill their potential and achieve their dreams?  Parents do it everyday, spouses have these conversations and make these adjustments.  Outside of immediate family are you willing to make these same sacrifices?  Are you willing to do small things like miss the game to help someone move?  Are you willing to accept that phone call just as your television program is about to start?  A little more service in the world and you will find yourself living in a beautiful reality.
