Looking at a situation from your view will not always give you all the information you need to understand the situation.  What about the first person that walked from the flat lands and encountered a mountain range.  A belief may be that the Earth rises to that level from that point forth.  They had no way of knowing that range peaked and dropped off again.  Know your view is your view and it may not be the entire view.
