teaching thorough

A recent revelation came while washing dishes.  I have been working with my 12 year old to be more thorough in this task.  There have been frequent occasions where he has placed a dish in the rack to dry that he believes is clean only to be inspected by me or mom to find fault in his effort.  As I was washing my dish this morning I found myself paying close attention to detail to ensure that any dish I wash is the prime example for him.  I clearly see that holding him accountable for the level of cleanliness we expect I am paying more attention to my thoroughness with this task.  If you want others to follow, you first must lead.
