slam dunk

Do you know how gratifying a slam dunk is? I challenge you to admit you do. Pulling off a great presentation, handling a difficult conversation, getting that date you didn't think you could - all of these are lifes slam dunks. Do not let an outside judge negate your victory or lower the rim on your level of accomplishment. This is your world, your game and you have earned all your slam dunks. Do not measure yourself to where others are dunking at. Know your court, perfect your craft and dunk away!

I was thinking about this over the weekend. I had to end a freindship because this person would negate me- in my victories she would say "you could have done ......better" or "so and so already accomplished that". In my venting for defeats, she would say I should be grateful that ......and it doesn't matter if I achieved in the end. My self confidence was demishied on one, and modivation or lesson made irrelevant in the other.
I get enough of that at work, I don't need it in my friends.
