Coach Maurice Tyler prints out a quote on the bottom of all his documents from his preseason coaches meeting, to the practice schedule, to the end of season wrap up - that quote is "No Excuses, No Explanations."  I love this in all walks of life.  Be direct, be intentional.  If someone asks you if you want to join their outing and you don't want to just say no thank you.  You do not need to explain.  Be sound, be solid.
