If you ever have the opportunity there is a nice little place attached to the convention center in Ft Lauderdale called Market 17.  They have an experience called Dining in the dark.  Yes you are served random dishes directly from their gourmet chef in a room of complete darkness.  Your sense of smell is heightened, you are encouraged to touch the food and get to know the textures.  It is amazing how hard it is to associate tastes that you know with their names when you don't have a visual connection.  The meal (6 courses or more if you like) was inspired.  The waiter is incredible (ask for Greg).  Tip him well for his passion for his work is rare and worth the visit.
