When I hear someone say they did have access to a resource or knowledge to be as successful as they could have been I can't help but wonder if they are using that as an excuse or if they exhausted every resource at their disposal.  At the most basic level let's look at reading.  there are people in the world that cannot read.  They were never taught and have not learned to read.  These people are at disadvantge but not helpless.  Then there are people that can read but chose not to.  Even as the person that cannot read you can still use the power of asking for assistance, watching others, and learning through trial and error.  The claim of I was never given a chance can be true in a moment, but in the next moment you have a choice to create your own "chance", to educate yourself on any topic.  Dig deep, kick, fight , and scratch for what you came to Earth to do and let nothing hold you back.

If you were cold and on the verge of freezing how far would you go to find warmth?  If you were hungry on the verge of starvation what limits would you pass to survive?  If you knew the cure to heal a child's ailment at what point would you give up before you achieved the cure?
You are not cold, hungry, or have an ill child.  So the drive to do something great can sit idle in your mind.  It can sit idle in front of the TV or internet for hours on end.  Many a great mind is not even alive because we won't activate our passion to live and act with the greatness that is within us.  It won't pass the tipping point unless you want it more than survival itself.  Fight for your dreams as if you were underwater fighting for your breath.  How bad do you want it?

Are you looking for Love or are you giving Love?  Is Love an emotion or an action?  When you look at a sunrise or set, the miracle of child birth or the depth of your wifes eyes do you feel Love in action?  You should feel it because it is transmitted to you.  However do not waste your time seeking it - make it and you will be surrounded by it.  If you have heard God is Love you know it is through action that you find His Love, then you can bask in the feeling.

Read 10 pages a day of any great book.  Inspirational, personal development, spiritual, skill or trade - something to help you grow.  Even at 5 days a week (remember working hard is about recovery and reflection as well) you will have read anywhere from 8-10 books a year!  Imagine the knowledge you will bring to your career, social circle, and personal peace of mind with that amount of growth per year.  It all starts with a little daily discipline.  Love Always - Coach J

A study conducted at BYU related to goal achievement found that people who said "That's a good idea" had a 10% chance of achieving their goal.  Those who said "I'll do it" 25% chance, those who placed a date by which they planned to achieve the goal had a 40% chance of achieving their goal. Those who developed a specific plan had a 50% chance of getting there and 60% if they committed to someone else they would accomplish the goal.  But those people who committed to someone else and also committed to share their progress at regular intervals had a 95% chance of reaching their goal!  Find an accountability partner, share your goals and keep a schedule of updates.  You were built to win.  You will succeed!  Love Always - Coach J

In team sports there is a term of Most Valuable Player.  One player cannot win or lose a game.  However one player can lead, guide, and inspire his team to victory.  What spirit do you bring to your team?  Do you have an MVP spirit?  Are you willing to play like the MVP even if you are not recoginsed?  Give it a try, the payoff is not in others naming you MVP but in the journey of pushing yourself and inspiring your team.  Love Always - Coach J
