A study conducted at BYU related to goal achievement found that people who said "That's a good idea" had a 10% chance of achieving their goal. Those who said "I'll do it" 25% chance, those who placed a date by which they planned to achieve the goal had a 40% chance of achieving their goal. Those who developed a specific plan had a 50% chance of getting there and 60% if they committed to someone else they would accomplish the goal. But those people who committed to someone else and also committed to share their progress at regular intervals had a 95% chance of reaching their goal!
