Where have your feet been? To what altitude have they carried you? What have they picked you back up from or moved you past? What do they run to, jump for, and dance to?
Is there sand between the toes, or insulation from the cold? Did you step in something that made you giggle or made you squirm? 
To walk a mile in another's shoes is only a snap shot of the epic film that will be their experience. One cold day does not make a cold life. One perfect day does not mean trials go unknown on this journey.
You favorite pair of shoes are not as resilient as your feet. They get worn, replaced, cleaned, and eventually tossed. The blisters, clipping, massaging, elevating, and resting of your feet are just as much part of the journey as the function of carrying your weight.
Look down today and see where your feet have brought you. If you don't like what you see simply turn them in a new direction and start moving. If you are not sure what direction to turn them consider what is pulling at your heart and run toward that. No one cares if you trip - those that laugh never went after something they love. If you fall get up - those that never fell never went after anything worth while.
Jump, skip, hop, walk, run, rest, repeat.

There is greatness in your future. It is the design for your life. If you knew as a seed the height and breadth of your reach you may never reach your potential due to being overwhelmed and lack of belief. When you keep you head on the grind, do the good work, and at the some point look up to reflect you will find the beautiful and amazing creation that you played part in on this Earth. Is the winner the person that posted the best time in a given event at a certain point in time and space? For sure! Is the winner the person that was better today than they were yesterday? For sure! Winning and losing are tags that can be attached to our experiences. What you take away from the experience and apply to future efforts constitute the winner as I see it. So many have won a certain "race" only to find themselves feeling empty and unfulfilled. So many have inspired by simply giving their best effort regardless of the outcome. Knowing where you were yesterday, what you are aiming towards going forward, and measuring progress while enjoying the journey is a win.

Allow me to sip from my cup of experience while you sip from yours. If you are willing I can share some of the tastes I have created. My cup is bottomless with a thirst to be filled with that which you choose to share. Let's sip together from the flow of life. Let's create a brew that will enrich, arouse, inspire, and energize. Each day - or even each moment we chose which cup we draw our experiences from. They may appear to be separate cups, but I assure you they intertwine.

No matter how much you say it, no matter how much you show it, beyond the words and actions of love make time to physically connect with your loved ones. It's easy to hold a baby or toddler, you can be quick to kiss your spouse daily, however I am suggesting a deliberate, intentional, extended hug. While you younger children talk to you take their hand. While your teenager or young adult children share with you place a hand on their shoulder or arm. If you are lucky enough to be around your loved ones as the day comes to an end, hug them, rub their head - connect.

After taking some time away from writing here my return is prompted by the very lessons I share.
I offer many times that we make record of our blessings. The ritual of capturing the beauty in my life on this blog took a break and after recent reflections and signals I know this is a practice that needs rejuvenation. The family is a little older, wiser, and just as beautiful and as loving as ever. This morning I basked in the wealth of my life as I bottle fed my 2 month old, and my 5 year old played with his Star Wars race cars in the living room. My wife took one of my older sons to a movie and it was just me and the younger boys. I thought of how peaceful and supportive the home we have created is. We may not be rich, but we are with out a doubt the most wealthy version of our family that we have ever been. Life is great, through the struggles and challenges beauty prevails. Find the blessing in each moment, take a breath and be fully present to the perfect beauty of the day.
